We Need You To Win Conservative Seats

Members, Volunteers & Potential Candidates

North Island-Powell River Conservative Association Invites you to our

MARCH 25 CALL TO ACTION

The late W.A.C. Bennett used to tell us that an election is like a civil war without any guns. We must be ready for a snap election as we watch the Liberal-NDP coalition crumble. Our first step to activating our troops is a day-long workshop occurring Saturday, March 25th at the historic Native Sons Hall (Lower Level) in Courtenay.

The morning session will be devoted to examining how the Conservative Party of Canada is governed, both at the Electoral District level and at the National Level. Any of our members who are interested in seeking a position as Director or wanting to attend the Policy Convention in Quebec City should attend this session.

The afternoon sessions is devoted to election preparedness. We will need an army of volunteers before an Election Writ is dropped and an even bigger army once it is. Your position in this army will depend on your knowledge of how a campaign functions. If you may be thinking of seeking the nomination as our candidate in the coming election, you will be most interested in our panel of past candidates outlining their experiences.

We are laying on a light luncheon with special guest speaker,

Kenny Chiu

former Conservative MP,
Steveston - Richmond East

Kenny Chiu is the former MP for Stevenson-Richmond who was defeated in the 2021 federal election. According to a Globe and Mail report, CSIS documents describe the then Chinese Council General in Vancouver, Tong Xiaoling, boasting of a strategy that led to the defeat of two unnamed Conservative MPs in 2021. The two defeated Conservative MPs in the greater Vancouver area were Chiu and Alice Wong of Richmond Centre. Both saw a substantial drop in vote share. CBC quotes Chiu on March 3, 2023, as stating that he was a target of propaganda and disinformation on the Chinese language Internet chat platform Wechat during the last election campaign. Mr. Chiu is also quoted as saying that “Canada is an‘open market’ for foreign interference in elections”.

This is a workday so feel free to wear denim or other comfortable "work" clothing. Come prepared to enter the discussions and share your ideas. WE NEED YOU.
